LOS BANOS, CA — On Friday, March 30, 2018, Jasmine Kaur will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.
Kaur will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Los Banos Postmaster at a 12:30 p.m. ceremony at the Los Banos Post Office, 1135 Sixth St., Los Banos, CA, 93635. Post Office Operations Manager Kimi Lonjin will administer the official oath of office.
Kaur began her U.S. Postal Service career in 2000 as a clerk in Merced, CA. In 2012, she began her management career supervising carriers and clerks. In 2014, she was sworn in as Postmaster in Patterson, CA. She began working in Los Banos in November 2017.
“I am extremely proud to be chosen as the new Postmaster for Los Banos,” Kaur said. “I aim to serve the Los Banos community by providing them with stellar customer service by means of my expertly trained team of dedicated employees.”
Kaur is married to her husband, Ravi Singh. They have three children, Tanveen, 19, Aman, 17 and Mehar, 11. Kaur enjoys interior decorating and spending time with her family.
As Los Banos Postmaster, Kaur oversees over 14,000 city and rural daily mail deliveries, with more than 60,000 pieces of daily mail volume. In addition, Los Banos services over 1100 daily Post Office box deliveries. Kaur manages 32 employees.
