ROSEVILLE, CA — On Thursday, June 14, 2018, Mark Cole will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.
Cole will raise his right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Roseville Postmaster at a 10:00 a.m. ceremony at the Roseville Vernon Station Post Office, 330 Vernon Street, Roseville, CA 95678. Post Office Operations Manager Al Valdivia will administer the official oath of office.
Cole began his U.S. Postal Service career in 2002 as a clerk in Santa Clara, CA. In 2004, he began his management career supervising carriers and clerks. He has served as supervisor and manager in over 14 different post offices. Most recently he served as Postmaster in Santa Clara and Rancho Cordova, CA. Cole also bravely served his country as an Infantry Paratrooper with the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division for three years and with the Army Reserves’ 91st Division 3rd Simulation Exercise Group for five years.
“I am extremely proud to be chosen as the new Postmaster for Roseville,” Cole said. “Being Postmaster is not just about following in my father’s footsteps, it’s about serving a company that has provided for me and my family since I was two years old. It is also a dedication and commitment to my country and Postal Service goals. I aim to serve the Roseville community by providing them with stellar customer service by means of my expertly trained team of dedicated employees.”
Cole is married to his wife, Amy. They have one daughter, McKenna, 4 and a son due later this month on June 25. Cole’s father is retired Campbell Postmaster Joseph Cole. His mother is Melly Cole and his mother-in-law is Marilyn Barry. Cole loves spending time with his family, which includes his three dogs. He is also a huge Bay Area sports fan.
As Roseville Postmaster, Cole oversees 102 city and rural delivery routes, with more than 70,000 pieces of daily mail volume. In addition, Roseville services over 2600 daily Post Office box deliveries. Cole manages 190 employees.
