
YREKA, CA — On Friday, June 8, 2018, Joe Rennock will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.
Rennock will raise his right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Yreka Postmaster at a 10:00 a.m. ceremony at the Yreka Post Office, 401 S. Broadway Street, Yreka, CA 96097. Sacramento District Marketing Manager Brenda Pope will administer the official oath of office.
Rennock began his U.S. Postal Service career in 2013 as a carrier in Yreka. In 2015, he began his management career supervising carriers and clerks.
“I am extremely proud to be chosen as the new Postmaster for Yreka,” Rennock said. “I grew up in this town, so it is a real honor to now service the citizens as their Postmaster. I want the Postal Service to be a strategic partner with the local businesses. I am committed to working with our community so that we can become their preferred shipper of choice. I vow to provide stellar customer service by means of my expertly trained team of dedicated employees.”
Rennock is engaged to his fiancée, Christy Gamache. He has one son, Bradley, 18 and two daughters, Madison, 10 and Mykenzi, 8. Rennock loves to play sports with his children.
As Yreka Postmaster, Rennock oversees eight city and rural delivery routes, with more than 5,000 pieces of daily mail volume. In addition, Yreka services over 1,400 daily Post Office Box deliveries. Rennock manages 20 employees.
