Shasta Lake & Project City Post Offices Reopen - Summit City and Igo Remain Closed

SHASTA COUNTY, CA — Two U.S. Post Offices in Shasta County have reopened after being temporarily closed due to the Carr Fire.

  • Shasta Lake, 4425 Front St., Shasta Lake, CA 96019
  • Project City, 1985 Cascade Blvd., Shasta Lake, CA 96019

Meanwhile, four other Post Offices remain temporarily closed:

  • Summit City, 13701 Hill Blvd., Shasta Lake, CA 96089
  • Igo, 6484 Placer Road, Igo, CA 96047
  • French Gulch, 14200 Main St., French Gulch, CA 96033
  • Shasta Post Office, 15430 State Highway 299 W, Shasta, CA 96087

French Gulch and Shasta postal customers can pick up their mail at Redding Downtown Post Office, 1647 Yuba St., Redding, CA 96001. Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. In addition, postal customers in ZIP Code 96001 who have been affected by the Carr Fire can also pick up their mail at the downtown location.

Summit City postal customers can pick up their mail at the Shasta Lake Post Office, 4425 Front Street, Shasta Lake CA 96019. Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Igo postal customers can pick up their mail at the Redding Main Post Office, 2323 Churn Creek Road, Redding, CA 96002. Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday.

Customers are reminded to bring proper photo ID in order to make mail and package pickups.
