Three Post Offices Reopen for Business

SHASTA COUNTY, CA — Several U.S. Post Offices in Shasta County have reopened after being temporarily closed due to the Carr Fire. They include:

  • Shasta Lake, 4425 Front St., Shasta Lake, CA 96019
  • Project City, 1985 Cascade Blvd., Shasta Lake, CA 96019
  • Summit City, 13701 Hill Blvd., Shasta Lake, CA 96089

Meanwhile, three other Post Offices remain temporarily closed:

  • Igo, 6484 Placer Road, Igo, CA 96047
  • French Gulch, 14200 Main St., French Gulch, CA 96033
  • Shasta Post Office, 15430 State Highway 299 W, Shasta, CA 96087

French Gulch and Shasta postal customers can pick up mail at Redding Downtown Post Office, 1647 Yuba St., Redding, CA 96001. Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. In addition, postal customers in ZIP Code 96001 who have been affected by the Carr Fire can also pick up mail at the downtown location.

Igo postal customers can pick up mail at the Redding Main Post Office, 2323 Churn Creek Road, Redding, CA 96002. Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday.

Customers are reminded to bring proper photo ID in order to make mail and package pickups.

We apologize for this inconvenience to our customers and hope to have the offices reopened and fully operational again as soon as possible.
