PASO ROBLES, CA – On Friday, October 12, 2018, Mark Martinez Jr. will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.

Martinez will raise his right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Paso Robles Postmaster at an 11:00 a.m. ceremony at the Paso Robles Post Office, 800 6th Street, Paso Robles, CA 93446. Post Office Operations Manager Jing Madrigal will administer the official oath of office.

Martinez began his U.S. Postal Service career in 1993 as a part-time flexible carrier in Atascadero, CA. In 2014, he began supervising clerks and carriers while working in San Luis Obispo, CA and was later promoted to station manager in Los Osos, CA.

“I feel honored to be able to represent the Postal Service in this way,” Martinez said. “I will work with conviction to build a strong relationship of confidence and trust for the community of Paso Robles by providing stellar customer service by means of my expertly trained employees.”

Martinez is married to his wife, Jennifer. They have two children, Markie, 16 and Ceci, 13. His father is Mark Martinez Sr, his mother is Peggy Martinez and his brothers are DJ and Ricky Martinez.

Martinez loves to spend time with his family and watching his kids play sports. He also enjoys camping and spending time with his friends. He has been a sports coach for over 24 years. Martinez is currently coaching freshman football and the girls’ basketball team at Paso Robles High.

As Paso Robles Postmaster, Martinez oversees 24 city and rural routes which average over 19,000 city and rural daily mail deliveries. In addition, Paso Robles services over 3,000 Post Office Boxes daily. Martinez manages 46 employees.
