Background: |
The possibility of having a Date Meets ZIP is quite rare. It only comes around once every 100 years and for most post offices, this never occurs at all. Residents and businesses are invited to bring their own postcards, letters or purchase items from the Irvine Post Office and have it stamped with the commemorative postmark to remember this special once-in-a-lifetime occasion. The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations. |
