Colorado Springs, CO — Passport application acceptance is now available at a central location — the Colorado Springs Downtown Station Post Office, located at 201 E Pikes Peak Ave. 80903.
A Grand Opening Ceremony will be held on Wednesday May 18th, at 10:00 AM.

The new center will have full time passport agents who will help speed applications.

“Providing a dedicated Passport Office in a central location will improve efficiency and reduce wait times,” said Colorado Springs Postmaster Sam Reed.

Hours of operation for the Passport Center will be:

Tue –Sat 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Sun – Mon: Closed

Passport services have been discontinued at Cimarron Station Post Office, 5925 E Galley Rd. 80915.

Reed recommends applicants bring all paperwork required for a passport with them. Passport applicants are advised to complete the application at home, print it, and bring the completed forms, along with all required documentation.  A list of all required documentation for a passport is available on the U.S. Department of State website at travel.state.gov.  An important note; applicants must not sign the forms until witnessed in front of the clerk (agent).  Additional documents may be required and can be found on the website.

Passport photos are available at the Passport Center or customers can bring their own. Photos must meet specific requirements, which are listed on the state travel website.

Those with questions about the passport application process may call the Passport Center 719-570-5248 or email ColoradoSpringsPassportCenter@usps.gov. The State Department recommends Passport applications be submitted 6-8 weeks before the date of travel.
