KREMMLING — Evacuations and road closures have forced the Postal Service to stop delivery to more than 30 homes due to the spread of the Silver Creek Fire. The mail, which includes checks, medications, and commerce, is safely being held at the Post Office.

The impacted delivery area includes Old Park, Latigo Ranch, and Yost Ranch. All mail destined for these addresses is available for pickup at the Kremmling Post Office, located at 701 Park St. in Kremmling until further notice.

“Your mail is safe with us and we hold it until all of us are allowed back into the area,” said Postmaster Christa Kopp.

One solution to coming in to check your mail every day is Informed Delivery.

Informed Delivery is a free USPS service that allows postal customers to digitally preview their mail and manage packages scheduled to arrive.

After signing up at www.InformedDelivery.com, you’ll get a daily email that shows greyscale images of the exterior, address side of letter-sized mailpieces and also tracks incoming packages.

Future delivery decisions will be made after consulting with local emergency managers.
