Post Offices Open, Mail Delivered on July 3rd

Some sites will close at noon

All Post Offices nationwide will be open Friday, July 3 although most will shorten retail lobby hours and close at noon.

Regular mail delivery for this day will be unaffected by the change. Access to post office boxes may be limited in those post offices where an early retail closing all customer activities.

Revised hours will be posted at each Post Office and commercial customers are asked to check with their Bulk Mail Acceptance Unit for July 3 hours of operation.

In addition, mail should be deposited into blue collection mailboxes by noon for early pick-up on this date.

Offices in that will remain open until 5 pm on Friday, July 3 will be limited to:

CONNECTICUT:

  • Bradley Airport Mail Facility (10 Schoephoester Road, Windsor Locks) – open July 3 until 5 pm

The window unit inside Bradley will be closed on Independence Day and will open from 7:45 am until 5 pm on Sunday, July 5.

  • The Hartford Main Window Unit (141 Westin Street) will close at 3 pm on July 3

MASSACHUSETTS (ZIP Codes beginning with 010 to 012 only):

  • Springfield Post Office (1883 Main Street) — 2 PM
  • Pittsfield Post Office (212 Fenn Street) — 1 PM

Except for Express Mail, there will be no delivery of mail on July 4. Post Offices will reopen and regular mail delivery will resume on Monday, July 6.

The Connecticut Valley District of the Postal Service includes all facilities in the state of Connecticut and those ZIP Codes in western Massachusetts that begin with the three digits of 010 through 012 only.
