While Postal Employees Are Home For The Holidays This Thanksgiving, You Can Still Mail Early Holiday Cheer

HARTFORD CT — The Postal Service observes Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013 as a holiday. All post offices will be closed. There will be no regular mail delivery. We will re-open with regular mail delivery, collections, and retails services on Friday, Nov. 29.

You can still have access to postal services at Self Service Kiosks (SSKs) and can buy stamps at select local retailers in the Hartford area. Available hours and street addresses of SSK locations and local retailers can be found on www.usps.com by using the Locate A Post Office search function.

You can perform a number of postal transactions at the kiosks including weighing and shipping packages, buying postage, mailing letters, looking up ZIP Codes and accessing other mailing information. Special services like certified mail and insurance are also available.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
