Inspired by limited edition Priority Mail boxes featuring The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie, the U.S. Postal Service is honoring postal employees who have demonstrated heroism or extraordinary community service. Mr. Stewart provided assistance to a customer on his route when he found the 95-year-old gentleman on the ground in the cold after he had fallen trying to pick up his newspaper. The customer spent hours incapacitated in the cold and the letter carrier’s quick call to 911 resulted in his hospitalization and eventual recovery. The customer’s son sent a letter crediting the letter carrier with saving his life. |
