GREENWICH, CT — Connecticut residents planning summer trips out of the country are advised to “apply early” and what better time to get your passport than on Saturday.
Greenwich Post Office, 29 Valley Drive, will make it easier for you by holding a special “Passport Day” on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Postmaster Jeff Salamon, noting the closeness of the date to Valentine’s Day, said the event is being billed as “Take Your Sweetheart Away Day.”
“We are happy to leverage the convenience of the Postal Service and partner with the Department of State to help our customers apply for passports as well as offer passport photos,” said Salamon, who is new to the position and looks forward to meeting people during the event.
He said applications are regularly accepted at the Greenwich Post Office Mondays to Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Passport photos also are available.
Application forms, information on the costs and how to apply for a passport book and/or passport card can be found at usps.com/international/passports.htmor travel.state.gov/passport. U.S. citizens also may obtain passport information by phone, in English and Spanish, by calling the National Passport Information Center toll-free at 1-(877) 487-2778.
