Thomas Tsangarides To Be Sworn In As Postmaster Of Rocky Hill

ROCKY HILL, CT — Thomas Tsangarides will be sworn in as Postmaster of Rocky Hill Connecticut on Saturday, January 7th at 12 p.m. at the Assembly Hall of the Rocky Hill Fire Department. The hall is located at 739 Old Main Street in Rocky Hill.

Tsangarides has almost 17 years of experience in the Postal Service, Having joined the organization in March of 2000. He quickly entered the Associate Supervisor Program, a training program offered by the Postal Service to provide training for upward mobility.

Upon graduation, he served in supervisory positions in many Post Offices in the state, including Waterbury, Bridgeport, Hartford, Bethel, Watertown and Glastonbury Post Offices. He then served as Officer in Charge (an acting postmaster position) in the Avon, Windsor, Rocky Hill, Glastonbury, and Vernon Post Offices, in addition to working in the Postal Service’s retail department.

Tsangarides also assists the Post Office Operations Manager (who oversees a number of Post Offices and Postmasters) by serving as Team Leader, coordinating training and overseeing the mail route improvement process. In addition, he conducts interviews for potential hires throughout the state. He also holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree in International Business from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

Tsangarides says he was drawn to the Rocky Hill Postmaster position because of the employees and the many wonderful residents that visit the Post Office there; “The Rocky Hill Post Office is comprised of 32 dedicated, caring, and knowledgeable, employees who prepare and deliver mail to more than 7000 Rocky Hill residents as well as an excellent Window, Custodial, Distribution and Supervisory staff,” he said. He looks forward leading that team in providing excellent service to Rocky Hill customers.

Tsangarides will be sworn in by Connecticut Valley District Manager David Mastroianni, Jr., who oversees postal operations in all of Rhode Island, Connecticut and most of Massachusetts from New Bedford to the Berkshires, up to the New Hampshire border. His wife, Colleen, will hold the bible as he takes his oath of office. He and his wife Colleen are the parents of 4 children (Katina, Rebecca, Krysta, and Thomas Philip) and they live in Milldale, CT.

The event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.
