Extended Weekend Hours at Post Offices Near You

Some Post Offices Open Sunday to Help Ease the Holiday Rush

Hartford, CT— The US Postal Service is offering extended hours at some Post Offices in Connecticut to help customers deal with the holiday rush., offering customers extra time to pick up packages, buy stamps, send a holiday gift or apply for a passport.

Eighteen Post Offices in Connecticut will be open from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 10th and 17th, offering full services.  Those offices are Manchester, Enfield, West Hartford (Bishops Corner and Elmwood), Stamford, Stratford, Milford, Meriden, Monroe, Cheshire, Glastonbury, Groton, Westport, Fairfield, Greenwich, Darien, Danbury and New Briain.

The U.S. Postal Service will deliver more than 15 billion pieces of mail this holiday season, including 850 million packages. That is more than a 10 percent increase compared to last year’s holiday mailing season.

We have planned for this holiday season all year long and have flexed our network and expanded delivery hours to accommodate increased volume.
