Stafford Village Post Office To Close

STAFFORD, CT — On November 1, 2018, the Stafford Village Post Office (VPO), located at 255 East Street in Stafford will close. This move is due to the closing of the Mill Pond Country Store, which the Stafford VPO was located in.

Customers may pick up their mail at the Stafford Springs Post Office, located at 20 East Main Street in Stafford Springs, between 9:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday and from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Saturdays.

Existing P.O. Box customers will be provided with a box at the Stafford Springs location. Please visit the retail counter to receive the keys for your new box. 

Customers who would like to receive street delivery must contact the Stafford Springs Post Office once they’ve installed their mailbox, as instructed. 

Please bring a photo ID when picking up mail.

Started in July 2011, Village Post Offices (VPOs) provide access to postal products and services to rural communities across the country. VPOs are located within established businesses and other places customers frequent in order to convenient postal services to members of these communities.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
