WASHINGTON – Opening Friday, Nov. 13, travelers in the Washington, DC, area will now have a central location dedicated to processing passport applications. The new Washington, DC Passport Acceptance Center (WPAC) processes new passport applications, renewals and takes passport photos.

Operated by the Washington, DC, Post Office, the WPAC entrance is located at 900 Brentwood Road NE. Customers can walk in without an appointment to apply for routine and expedited passports.

Starting Nov. 13, WPAC will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. WPAC will be the primary location for passport processing throughout Washington, DC. However, passports may still be obtained at select Post Offices.

The public is invited to attend WPAC’s official Grand Opening on Nov. 13 at 10 a.m.

WPAC devotes all passport processing to a dedicated area separate from mail retail processing, saving time for all customers who come into the Post Office. The Postal Service processed nearly 19,259 passports in the DC area so far in 2015. In order to continue to meet this growing demand, the new walk-in passport center is a welcome addition to the community.

  • Passport Application Form DS-11 (unsigned)
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship (original document)
