Miami FL—Wednesday, September 16, is National Postal Customer Council Day. Postmaster General John E. Potter will host a national satellite broadcast to Postal Service customers and partners across the country to discuss the Postal Service’s current financial challenges, service performance, and strategies for growth.
The Miami-Dade County Postal Customer Council invites the South Florida business community to listen to the Postmaster General’s presentation by registering for its upcoming National PCC Day event to be held in the auditorium of the United Auto Insurance Group at 1313 NW 167 Street in Miami Gardens. It’s an all-day event from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm (lunch included) for only $25.
In addition to the Postmaster General’s satellite broadcast, the Miami-Dade County PCC will welcome Pritha Mehra, Vice President, Business Mail Entry and Payment Technologies, who will deliver a presentation on a new program that will revolutionize the U.S. Postal Service. It’s the Intelligent Mail barcode, or IMb, that will provide continuous mail tracking and real-time feedback on mailpieces. As mailpieces travel through the postal network and are scanned at key points, the technology enables business customers to “see” their mail at every step — from arrival at the postal facility to processing to transportation to delivery. Mehra will be onsite to deliver her presentation and to field questions from attendees.
National PCC Day is the premier Fall event for the mailing industry. Throughout the year, the PCC provides a forum for mailers to discuss and resolve mailing issues with their local Postmaster and also serves as an avenue for its members to exchange ideas and suggestions on new postal products and services. Nationwide 200 PCCs with a membership of 100,000 serve as a network of business mailers and postal representatives who gather regularly to discuss ways to make mail service more efficient and improve customer satisfaction.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 149 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes, six days a week. It has 34,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services, not tax dollars, to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
