South Florida Post Offices Open on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, But Most Will Close at Noon

Pembroke Pines, FL — All Post Offices in South Florida and across the country will be open Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24, and New Year’s Eve, Thursday, December 31, but most will shorten retail lobby hours and close at noon.

Revised hours will be posted at each Post Office and commercial customers are asked to check with their Business Mail Entry Unit for December 24 and December 31 hours of operation.

Mail delivery for December 24 and December 31 is not affected by the change. In addition, mail should be deposited into blue collection mailboxes before noon for early pick-up on these dates.

Customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS for information about specific Post Offices. Post Offices will be closed Friday, December 25, and Friday, January 1. Most South Florida Post Offices will be open regular hours on Saturday, December 26 and Saturday, January 2. But customers are asked to call 1-800-ASK-USPS or visit usps.com for a list of Post Offices with shortened retail hours on Saturday, December 26, and Saturday, January 2. Some South Florida Post Offices will be closed on these two dates.

Express Mail only will be delivered on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day in most major metro areas.
