JACKSONVILLE, FL - The U.S. Postal Service Gulf Atlantic District will observe the Columbus Day Holiday on today, Monday, October 10. All Post Office retail operations will be closed; however, some mail delivery and collections will be made in the Jacksonville area as local situations permit.
Today, mail delivery and collections will be made in several North Florida cities on a limited basis, including accessible areas in Jacksonville, Green Cove Springs, Fernandina Beach, Lake City and Live Oak. Postal officials ask customers to remove debris from the path to their mailboxes so that mail delivery can be made.
South Georgia Post Offices in ZIP Code areas beginning with 313, 314 and 315 will be closed today for the holiday and mail will not be delivered. Most holiday mail collections will be made as scheduled. With few exceptions, Post Offices in the USPS Gulf Atlantic District are scheduled to resume normal business hours on Tuesday, Oct. 11. The USPS Gulf Atlantic District includes all Florida, Georgia and South Carolina ZIP code locations beginning with 298, 304, 308-310, 312-320, 322-326, 344, and 398.

Postal Service employees in the hurricane affected area are being advised to check for changes to their scheduled work reporting status by contacting the USPS National Emergency Notification Hotline to determine if any special instructions have been issued.
