Media will tour the Postal Service facility to view holiday mail processing. The Postal Service expects to deliver a total of approximately 16 billion cards, letters, flats, and packages during the 2016 holiday season. Projections are that approximately 750 million packages will be delivered between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve, which is an increase of 12 percent over last year’s volume. More than five million packages are expected to be delivered each Sunday in December. Mail carriers will also deliver packages on Christmas Day in select locations.
