DULUTH, GA—Some residents in Lawrenceville will get new ZIP Codes, effective July 1, 2009. The change, which addresses population increases in the area, affects approximately 15,600 deliveries – including 2240 businesses – primarily in the unincorporated area of the city. Those residences and businesses will have their ZIP Codes changed from 30045 to 30046.
Mail for the affected area will no longer be sorted for delivery at the Crogan Street Post Office. Letter carriers serving the area will be moved to a new Carrier Annex located at 748 Winer Industrial Way. Customers receiving notices to pick up letters and/or packages will retrieve them from the Winer Industrial Way location. The facility will offer no retail services and is not otherwise open to the public.
Customers whose ZIP Codes are changing were notified via letter of their new ZIP Codes earlier this month and are urged to begin using their new ZIP Codes on the effective date. To ease customer transition to the new ZIP Code, the Postal Service will ensure delivery of mail with both the old and new ZIP Codes for up to one year. After one year, continued use of the old ZIP Code may result in delivery delays.
