
ATLANTA, GA — A ceremony was held Monday, July 10, to dedicate the Sprayberry Post Office in honor of Lance Corporal Squire “Skip” Wells. On July 16, 2015, he was one of five service members murdered in a terrorist attack at the Naval Reserve Center in Chattanooga, Tenn. He was 21. He was one of five service members murdered.
Dr. Tom Price, the health and human services secretary under the Trump Administration, sponsored a bill to rename the post office the “Marine Lance Corporal Squire “Skip” Wells Post Office Building, which is located at 2886 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta.
“This was a singular cause of mine last fall and in my 12-plus years in the House of Representatives, I can’t think of anything that gave me greater honor and pleasure than getting this bill passed,” Price said before the unveiling. Every single member of the delegation stepped up and supported this. Marine Lance Corporal Wells stood up as a hero on July 16.”
