HONOLULU – Amy Marshall will be officially installed as the Saipan Postmaster at a special program scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17 in the Chamolinian Room at the Hyatt Regency Saipan.
Marshall has been serving as the Postmaster of the Saipan Post Office since Aug. 27. She replaced Hector Medina, who retired.
As Saipan Postmaster, Marshall will supervise six postal employees and the distribution of approximately 6,000 pieces of mail daily to 5,700 Chalan Kanoa PO Box customers. She also oversees the contract postal unit operations in Capitol Hill, San Vicente and Tinian, which serve another 1,900 customers.
Marshall is a 17-year postal employee who most recently served as the Postmaster in Hereford, Arizona. She began her began her postal career as a rural carrier in Dillon, Montana and eventually ascended to Postmaster positions in Crow Agency, Roundup and Hardin, Montana.
“I’m ecstatic about being in Saipan,” said Marshall. “I love the island and my fellow postal employees. I look forward to making many new friends and to providing the best possible service to our customers.”
The brief installation program will feature the administration of the Postmaster’s Oath of Office to Marshall by USPS Acting Honolulu District Manager Frank Santos. The event will be emceed by USPS Director of Asia-Pacific Relations Leo Tudela.
Marshall was born in Peoria, Illinois and, after a stint in the U.S. Army, graduated from Green River Community College in Auburn, Washington. Her hobbies are fishing, golf and shopping.
