HONOLULU — Tao A. Suani will be officially installed as the Pago Pago Postmaster at a special public program scheduled for 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 4 on the second floor of the Lumana’I Building.
The brief installation program will feature the administration of the Postmaster’s Oath of Office to Suani by Honolulu-based USPS Manager of Post Office Operations Felix Bagoyo.
Suani has been serving as the Postmaster of the Pago Pago Post Office since May 2014. She replaced Anetere’a Ioane, who moved on to a postmaster position in California.
As Pago Pago Postmaster, Suani supervises six postal employees and the daily distribution of mail to 8,000 PO Box customers.
Suani is a 17-year postal employee who previously served as a Distribution Window Clerk at the Pago Pago Post Office.
“I pledge to provide the best possible service to the people of American Samoa,” said Suani. “I’m very much aware of the importance of the Postal Service to American Samoa residents as well as to the business community.”
Suani was born in Leone and graduated from Fa’asao High School, American Samoa Community College and the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She and her husband, Lemapu Suani currently reside in Leone and have six children: Apollo, Abe, Arasi, Aliipesamino, May and Faanape.
