HONOLULU — Officials with the U.S. Postal Service in Hawaii announced today the expansion of mail services for customers impacted by the temporary closure of the Hanalei Post Office.
Effective Tuesday, May 1:
- The retail hours of operation at the Princeville Post Office will be extended by 1.5 hours daily on weekdays and by two hours on Saturdays. The temporary retail hours for Princeville will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
- The Kilauea Post Office will offer a special will-call mail pickup service specifically for Hanalei Post Office Box holders from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday.
The Hanalei Post Office was temporarily closed last week due to flooding caused by recent heavy rains. While the office is closed, Hanalei P.O. Box customers are being asked to pick up their mail from the Kilauea Post Office.
A reopening date for the Hanalei Post Office has not yet been determined.
