ALGONA, Iowa — Postmaster Tom McGuire announced changes for Algona, IA customers in ZIP Code area 50511, beginning Saturday, September 25.
The Highway Contract Driver (HCR) will now arrive at 7 a.m. instead of 6 a.m., which will push back the Algona Post Office lobby opening to 7 a.m. (instead of 6 a.m., and PO Box mail will now be available at 10:30 a.m. instead of 10 a.m. Both city and rural deliveries will now be made one hour later.
The new schedule for the Algona Post Office lobby will be from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday thru Saturday.
"I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers," said McGuire, "however, given the significant drop in mail volume and revenue, we simply must take every opportunity to capture cost savings while still providing our customers with the best service."
