Postal Service is hiring for the holidays

IOWA & WESTERN ILLINOIS — The United States Postal Service is hiring 350 seasonal employees throughout Iowa and Western Illinois with wages of $15 an hour and up.

Seasonal employees will work November 11 through January 4, including Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.

We also have hundreds of future career positions including benefits available such as City Carrier Assistants and Rural Carrier Associates.

The Postal Service takes great pride in meeting the holiday delivery expectations of our customers, but we need to fill the following jobs:

SEASONAL:

  • Casual Mail Handler positions ($15 per hour)
  • Holiday Clerk Assistant positions ($17.19 per hour)
  • No exam required
  • Will work November 11th through January 4th

FUTURE CAREER:

  • City Carrier Assistant – ($16.78 per hour) plus health benefits and accrual of vacation time
  • Rural Carrier Associate – ($17.78 per hour) plus health benefits

Basic requirements:

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age, or 16 years of age with a high school diploma.
  • All applicants must be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. Some positions require an exam.
  • Any position that has a driving requirement will also require a valid driver’s license and a clean two year driving history.
  • Citizenship or permanent resident status is required.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
