Contract Post Office to Open in Meridian

Grand Opening Slated for 10 a.m., June 4

June 02, 2009

MERIDIAN, IDAHO — The Postal Service is opening a contract Post Office in Meridian. The Post Office is located inside the same building as the Allstate Insurance office at 3120 W. Belltower Drive, Suite 175, which is in the Bridgetower Business Development near the intersection of Ten Mile and McMillan.

The Bridgetower contract postal location will have the same look and feel of a Post Office, with retail hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. The public is invited to a grand opening celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on June 4.

"This new location will make access to postal services more convenient for our customers," said Acting Meridian Postmaster James Bailey. "Contract postal locations offer virtually all of the services you would find at a Post Office, and the prices are the same."

The contract Post Office features a retail counter and customer service area, signage inside and out, and new weighing and pricing equipment that will speed up transactions and make mailing more convenient.

“We are excited to be able to offer expanded postal services to the community,” said Bruce Ritchie, who manages the new contract postal location.

Bailey believes the new postal location will prove popular. “We encourage everyone in the community to come down and check it out.”

Local dignitaries and community members are invited to the June 4 grand opening celebration to welcome the new Bridgetower Contract Post Office to the community. Refreshments will be served.
