BOISE, Idaho – The Boise mail processing and distribution facility, located at 2201 S. Cole Road, will collect tax returns until midnight on Tuesday, April 17 to assist last-minute tax filers. In addition, customers who print a mailing label before midnight, at any of the five Self-Service Ship and Mail Centers in the Boise/Nampa/Meridian area, will receive an April 17 postmark (see list of locations below).

The Internal Revenue Service has announced that Americans have until Tuesday, April 17 to file their taxes due to the normal deadline date of April 15 falling on a Sunday this year, and April 16 is Emancipation Day, a legal holiday in Washington DC.

Customers are encouraged to mail their tax returns early in the day, and check the collection times on each box to ensure pick up on April 17. Correct postage is a must. First-Class letter-size postage is 45 cents for the first ounce and 20 cents for each additional ounce. If you use a larger envelope, First Class postage is 90 cents for the first ounce and 20 cents for each additional ounce. Customers wanting certification that their tax forms are received by the IRS, should mail them using Certified Mail Service.

Stamps can always be purchased through Self-Service Ship and Mail Centers, which accept debit and credit cards, and alternate locations, such as grocery stores and ATMs.
