MILWAUKEE, WI — Charles (Charley) J. Miller was recently named the new District Manager for the Lakeland District – the second largest district within the Postal Service. His position went into effect on September 6, 2011.
As the new Lakeland District Manager, he will oversee postal operations for the 530, 531, 532, 535, 537, 538, 539, 541, 542, 544, 545, 549, 600, 602, 610 and 611 ZIP Code areas encompassing most of Wisconsin and northern Illinois with close to 800 Post Offices, seven processing plants, and more than 9,000 postal employees.
"These are historic times for the Postal Service," he said recently. "I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead as we become a stronger organization for our customers, employees and the mailing industry."
Miller began his career with the Postal Service in 1984 as a letter carrier in St. Louis, Missouri. During his 27 years with the Postal Service, he’s developed a strong background in customer service operations, sales and marketing. He has held various positions throughout the Great Lakes Area in Michigan, Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin. Most recently, he was District Manager of the Southeast Michigan District and Postmaster of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Miller received a Bachelor of Science Degree at University of Missouri in 1988 and a Master of Business Administration Degree at Lindenwood University in 2001. He’s a graduate of the Postal Service’s Advanced Leadership Program and completed executive training programs at Columbia University. His military service included six years as a special agent with the U.S. Air Force – Office of Special Investigations.
