CAROL STREAM, IL — The U.S. Postal Service today recognized HBSC Finance Corporation North America with its Strategic Business Development Award for the company’s commitment to a successful business partnership with the Postal Service. A select group of postal customers is acknowledged and recognized for their contributions to the continued success of the mailing industry at the annual National Postal Forum.
The Strategic Business Development Award, one of three “best in class” awards presented annually at the Forum, recognizes customers who have kept pace as technology advances. They're the innovators. HSBC partnered with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to leverage its global presence and local knowledge by using direct mail to inform potential bank customers of the full range of financial services to both individuals and businesses, including mortgages, loans, wealth management, and insurance.
HSBC used USPS products such as Intelligent Mail barcode, Summer Sale, First-Class Mail Incentive, and the Address Hygiene Programs to target and educate customers about Premier — HSBC’s global personal banking service. Through its partnership with USPS, HSBC expects to mail more than several hundred million pieces of IMb direct mail pieces in 2011, reduce bad address mailings, and improve its targeting ability. HSBC has improved significantly ROI and significantly reduced the amount of hard copy UAA delivered by USPS.
Some of the world’s premier retailers and manufacturers, including The Neiman Marcus Group, Furniture Row, Helzberg Diamonds, Polaris, and HSBC’s other private label card relationships, count on HSBC for expertise and innovation in managing customers’ credit needs, while helping to build brand loyalty.
HSBC’s ad mail campaign to increase brand awareness increased its use of direct mail by over 137% over same period last year, an increase of 155 million direct mail pieces.
The National Postal Forum is the mailing industry’s largest trade show and networking event for industry professionals. Since 1968, it has provided business mailers with ongoing training and education, and helped them keep pace with the mailing industry’s rapid progress.
