DEERFIELD, IL — The U.S. Postal Service recognized Discover Financial Services at the National Postal Forum with its 2014 Partnership for Growth Award. A select group of postal customers are acknowledged for their contributions to the continued success of the mailing industry at the National Postal Forum every year.

“This award is a tribute to Discover for finding new ways to use the mail to drive significant business results and mail growth,” said U.S. Postal Service Chief Marketing Officer Nagisa Manabe. “It is for the concerted effort Discover has had in working with the U.S. Postal Service to enhance the value of mail and helped to make our business partnership successful.”

The prestigious award represents the Postal Service’s dedication to recognizing innovation in a rapidly evolving technology environment.

The National Postal Forum is the mailing industry’s largest trade show and networking event for industry professionals. Since 1968, it has provided business mailers with ongoing training and education, and helped them keep pace with the mailing industry’s rapid progress. Held once a year in the spring, the Forum is a combination educational conference/trade show offering a wide range of opportunities for attendees. For more information, visit www.npf.org.

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation: 152 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations. With more than 31,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, usps.com, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $65 billion and delivers nearly 40 percent of the world's mail. If it were a private-sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 42nd in the 2012 Fortune 500. The Postal Service has been named the Most Trusted Government Agency for seven years and the fourth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute.
