INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The U.S. Postal Service wants customers to know that during the roof replacement project at the Columbus Post Office, which will last for approximately two months, customers can park free at the Jackson Street Parking Garage, located across the street from the Post Office.

“We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers but during the construction, our parking lot is unavailable,” said Columbus Postmaster Terri Muir.

Free parking is available up to one hour in the Jackson Street Garage, and 3-hour parking is also available on the street in front of the Post Office.

Muir would like to remind customers that they may visit the USPS Contract Postal Unit located at the Pawn Shop at 1637 N. National Road. The Pawn Shop’s business hours are Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“We are very sorry about the disruption to our customers during the construction, and would like to make their visit to the Post Office as easy and convenient as possible during that time,” Muir said.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
