WICHITA, KS – Due to an electrical fire at the Munger Station at 1314 N. Oliver St., all postal services have been temporarily relocated. No one was injured and no mail was damaged in the Friday night fire, although there was significant smoke damage to the building. Mail delivery in the area will continue.
Until further notice, customers with a Post Office Box at Munger Station may pick up their mail and obtain retail services at the Downtown Station at 330 W. 2nd St. North. Customers in ZIP Codes 67208 and 67220 can pick up left-notice mail at the Downtown Station as well. Retail hours at the Downtown Station are weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
Customers in ZIP Code 67218 may pick up left-notice packages at the River City Station at 3241 S. Hydraulic St. Retail hours at the River City Station are weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from
8:30 a.m. to noon.
Customers are reminded to bring photo identification when picking up their mail.
Customers needing postal services can find locations nearest them by using an interactive map at www.uspseverywhere.com and typing in a ZIP Code. Using a simple icon guide designating stamps, shipping and packaging, PO Boxes and other services, customers can easily navigate to retail outlets, grocery stores, Automated Postal Center (APC) kiosks and Post Offices, among other options.
