WICHITA, KS — The Wichita Corporate Hills Station, 9350 E. Corporate Hills Dr, and the General Mail Facility Retail Unit, 7117 W. Harry St., will be open for retail business from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on two Sundays during the holiday season – Dec. 8 and 15.  While all other Post Offices in the area will be closed on Sunday, mail placed in blue collection boxes at the stations and at the Wichita Dillons’ Stores on Dec. 8 and 15 will be picked up and processed as usual.

“It’s all about customer convenience,” said Wichita Postmaster Evelyn Tan-Todd. “We know there will be some customers in the area who will be preparing cards and packages to mail for the holiday, and this gives them the option to mail items, and purchase stamps and packaging material.”

Mail placed in collection boxes at the Wichita stations and at the Wichita Dillons’ and Leekers Stores will be picked up according to the regular collection times posted on each box and not the holiday collection schedule.

While all other Wichita Post Offices will be closed on Sunday, Self Service Kiosks will be available in the lobby of three Wichita Post Offices: Downtown Station at 330 W 2nd St. North, the General Mail Facility at 7117 W. Harry St., and the Corporate Hills Station at 9350 E. Corporate Hills Dr. The Self-Service Kiosks are easy to use, accept credit and debit cards, and make mailing packages and buying stamps convenient and 24/7.

Customers, who need a ZIP Code, want to calculate postage or purchase postage online may do so at the Postal Service’s web site usps.com. Postal information also is available 24/7 by calling 1-800-ASK-USPS.

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation: 152 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations. With more than 31,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, usps.com, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $65 billion and delivers nearly 40 percent of the world's mail. If it were a private-sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 42nd in the 2012 Fortune 500. The Postal Service has been named the Most Trusted Government Agency for seven years and the fourth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute.
