Hutchinson native selected as 21st postmaster of Hutchinson

What:

Hutchinson, KS, native Tammy Hoefer, who began her postal career as a city carrier in Hutchinson in 1990, will be sworn-in as the 21st Postmaster of Hutchinson. The community is invited to attend.

Who:

Post Office Operations Manager Toni Passot, Hutchinson Postmaster Tammy Hoefer, local dignitaries, postal employees, and community members.

When:

2 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2013

Where:

Hutchinson Post Office, 128 E. First Ave., Hutchinson, KS.

Background:

As Hutchinson Postmaster, Hoefer will be responsible for all retail and delivery operations in the city. Excellent mail service and customer satisfaction are high priorities for Hoefer.

“We want every postal transaction to be a satisfying one for our customers,” said Hoefer. “I look forward to working with our dedicated employees to provide outstanding service to our customers. The difference between good and great service is a little extra effort.”

Hoefer has also served as postmaster in the Kansas communities of Turon, Buhler, and most recently Lyons. She has also had several temporary assignments, including acting postmaster in St. John, KS, and Pratt, KS.

Hoefer was born and raised in Hutchinson. She has two daughters, Danielle of Los Angeles, CA, and Cammie of Hutchinson.

Hoefer replaces former Hutchinson Postmaster Stan Blasi, who is now the manager of the processing and distribution center in Wichita, KS.
