WICHITA, KS – For customer convenience, three Wichita Post Offices will open retail windows on Sunday during the holidays.

The following Wichita Post Offices will have Sunday retail hours:

  • Sunday, Dec. 4 – Wichita General Mail Facility, 7117 W. Harry St., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 11 – Corporate Hills Station, 9350 E. Corporate Hills Dr., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 18 – Downtown Station, 330 W. 2nd St., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Adding Sunday retail hours will help our customers get their packages in the mail at a time that is convenient for them,” said Wichita Postmaster Ryon Knopik.

While three Wichita Post Offices are adding Sunday retail hours for the holidays, Knopik reminds postal customers they likely already have a 24/7 Post Office inside their home or business. He encourages customers to skip the trip to the Post Office and ship their packages from the comfort of home at usps.com.

“Shipping a package on usps.com is as easy as making an online purchase, and you can do it at midnight in your pajamas, if you’d like,” said Knopik. “Free Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes and Free Package Pickup make online shipping a snap. There is no surcharge for residential deliveries, we offer free delivery on Saturday, and The U.S. Postal Service has the nation’s largest delivery network.”

The Postal Service expects to deliver approximately 16 billion cards, letters and packages this holiday season, including 750 million packages – a 12 percent increase compared to 2015. A similar increase is expected in Kansas.
