Contract Postal Units (CPU) are located inside a retail establishment and run by the retailer’s employees. These in-store CPUs offer a wide range of U.S. Postal Service products and services at the same prices found in traditional Post Offices. There are currently more than 5,000 CPU retailers across the U.S. offering expanded customer access to postal products and services. Phelps Do-It Best Hardware and Rental is the newest addition to the CPU endeavor. And on Feb. 4, store owners Barry and Steven Phelps will be joined by postal officials and local dignitaries to dedicate the new facility. "This is exciting news for Southwest Jefferson County,” said Kentuckiana District Marketing Manager Alisa Zanetti. “We expect this to be one of our most successful CPUs in the Louisville Area “ “I love the hometown feel of this locally-owned store,” she added. “Where else can you pick up an extension cord, check your Post Office Box, eat complimentary popcorn and buy stamps?” The Phelps Do It Best Hardware and Rental CPU will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 5:00 p.m. Sunday. |
