Postal Service award celebrates Cards Sugar Bowl win

LOUISVILLE, KY — In conjunction with National Signing Day, the U.S. Postal Service in Louisville is offering limited edition matted art celebrating the Louisville Cardinals win over the Florida Gators at the 2013 Allstate Sugar Bowl.

The 12x18 piece displays a victory envelope featuring a New Orleans postmark with the winning date, a vintage cardinal stamp with the winning score and the Louisville First Cards Forever motto. A large color photo inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome captures a scene of the National Anthem before kickoff.

“This is our way of congratulating the University of Louisville football team for pushing the envelope and placing 40292 on the map as Cardinal nation USA,” said District Marketing Manager Alisa Zanetti.

“We are thankful for the U.S. Postal Service commemorating our victory with this unique licensed product. This is a fitting correlation with Charlie Strong’s coaching staff strengthening the University’s brand on a national level,” said Associate Athletic Director Brent Seebohm.

The matted art is available while supplies last at the Louisville Main Post Office, 1420 Gardiner Lane. Price: $25. Mail order is also available for an additional $15 handling fee.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
