LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY — If you generate $196,457,072 in revenue annually, you need updating every now and then.

That’s the scenario at the Louisville Business Mail Entry Unit, which now has a new look to go along with its mission to become a one-stop, solution-oriented facility for business mailers.  Postal officials will host an Open House on Friday, October 14th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the 4440 Crittenden Drive location.   A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 10:45 AM.

“The Business Solution Center showcases the Postal Service commitment to providing world-class customer service to our business community,” said Kentuckiana Marketing Manager Alisa Zanetti. She noted the Louisville Business Mail Entry Unit is projected to process 422,685,150 pieces of mail in 2016.  This includes numbers for the political mailing season this fall.

Customers are now able to receive diagnostics, research, and hands-on assistance at the same location.  A customer consultation area provides a comfortable space to provide information about Postal technology and postage discounts.

The Kentuckiana District serves ZIP Codes 400-409, 411-427 in Kentucky and 471, 476-477 in southern Indiana.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.

Travelers are encouraged to apply for a passport several months before they are scheduled to travel overseas. A passport application is normally processed by the State Department within five to six weeks. However, for an additional fee, the State Department will expedite the application and process it within eight business days, and for those who need speedy delivery, the U. S. Postal Service offers Express Mail next day delivery both to and from the State Department.

For more information about passport application requirements, visit the State Department’s travel website at travel.state.gov or contact the Postmaster at 304-561-1012.
