Fluker, LA – The Main Post Office that serves residents in Fluker LA will remain closed until a collapsed roof can be repaired. Fluker is located 1.5 hours northeast of New Orleans, at 67013 Hwy 51. Postal officials learned Monday, that this kind of structural damage pose a safety risk for customers and employees. Contractors are now on site at the Fluker Post Office to inspect the facility and assess all structural damages.
Post Office Box customers picked up their mail on Tuesday from the Greensburg Post Office.
It is about 14 miles from the Fluker site, which operates four hours a day from 11:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m.
Any mail, which is not retrieved by customers from temporary Post Office Boxes on Tuesday from the Greensburg Post Office, will be available on Wednesday at the Roseland Post Office. This office will become a temporary site for Fluker Post Office box customers, until their post office reopens for business. Roseland is three miles from the Fluker office.
