New Orleans — The severe storm that brought heavy rain overnight to much of southern Louisiana has resulted in power outages and affected road conditions in many places across the area. Laplace was one of many communities hit the hardest by tornadoes, where mail delivery may be impacted.
Customers in Laplace should come to the post office and pick up their today. Safety is the primary concern for the Postal Service. Keeping employees and customers safe is our most important goal.
Customers with questions or comments about their mail service can contact their local Post Office. Customers may also call toll-free 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) or send an e-mail to the Postal Service by clicking on Customer Service at the bottom of the Postal Service’s www.usps.com home page.
The Postal Service website also hosts USPS Service Alerts that detail service disruptions due to weather-related and other natural disasters or events. Service alerts are posted in near real time and guide residential consumers on such questions as “Will I receive mail delivery?” and “Is my Post Office open?”
Postal customers are reminded the Post Office is always open at www.usps.com.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
