Baton Rouge, LA – Today, the U.S. Postal Service announced that both the St. Amant Post Office (70774) and the French Settlement Post Office (70733) resumed all delivery and retail operations. The Postal Service previously suspended operations at these offices, due to flash flooding from torrential rain.

We sincerely regret this inconvenience to our customers. However, the safety and well-being of both customers and employees is of utmost importance to the Postal Service.

As a reminder, operations at the offices listed below remain suspended and service is being provided by alternate Post Offices in the 707 ZIP Code area:

Denham Springs 70726: Alternate site: Baton Rouge Plant (8101 Bluebonnet Rd.)
Greenwell Springs 70739: Alternate site: Zachary P.O. 70791
Weyanoke 70787: Alternate site: St. Francisville 70775
Sorrento 70778: Alternate site: Gonzales P.O. 70737

While customers can pick up their mail with proper identification at these locations, retail and shipping services will also be available, such as Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail and First through Fourth-Class postage. In addition, Special Services like Registered and Certified Mail will be available for customers

As water recedes in the impacted areas and conditions improve, the Postal Service will continue to restore both mail delivery and retail services as soon as possible.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
