Baytown, TX — Relatives, friends and local dignitaries will attend a renaming ceremony of the Baytown Post Office building at 9 a.m., this Wednesday in honor of a fallen soldier. Located at 601 W. Baker Rd, the Baytown Post Office building will be renamed the “Army Specialist Keith Erin Grace, Jr. Post Office Building.” U. S. Rep. Brian Babin, Baytown Mayor Stephen DonCarlos, USPS representatives, and military associates will join the Grace family members at this special ceremony.
Baytown Postmaster Earl Schutt said this is a special ceremony, which recognizes a local veteran, who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and democracy.
“We are honored to know that our facility will be renamed the “Army Specialist Keith Erin Grace, Jr. Post Office Building,” said Schutt.
Army Specialist Grace of Baytown was killed in action in Afghanistan on August 11, 2013, at the age of 26. Assigned to the 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Specialist Grace lost his life near the Pakistan border in southeast Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
