Tropical Storm Harvey Causes Temporary Suspension at Several Post Offices: Effective August 28

LOUISIANA — U.S. Postal Service Louisiana District Manager Stephen Hardin announced today that, until further notice, due to Tropical Storm Harvey, retail and delivery operations have been suspended at the following offices. The list below shows alternate locations where customers may conduct retail transactions; pick up their mail, drop shipments and collections.

CAMERON POST OFFICE (70631), 144 ADAM ROUX ST, CAMERON, LA 70631-9998

  • Alternate location for retail services, pick up your mail, drop shipments and collection will divert to:
  • LAKE CHARLES MAIN POST OFFICE, 921 MOSS ST, LAKE CHARLES,  LA 70601-9998
    • LAKE CHARLES HOURS:  Mon – Fri: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sat: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

HACKBERRY POST OFFICE (70645),  904 MAIN ST, HACKBERRY, LA 70645-9997

  • Alternate location for retail services, pick up your mail, drop shipments and collection will divert to:
  • SULPHUR POST OFFICE, 800 S POST OAK RD, SULPHUR, LA 70663-5244
    • SULPHUR HOURS:  Mon – Fri: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sat: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

“We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closures and I want to offer my assurance that we are working as quickly as possible to reopen those affected Post Offices,” added Hardin.
