GREATER BOSTON, MA – Greater Boston District Manager Charles K. Lynch states that the Postal Service is continuously expanding customer options when it comes to transacting business with the Postal Service. He states that “today’s Post Office is literally right at your fingertips”.
The popular website of the United States Postal Service www.usps.com continues to grow in popularity with over one million visitors per day. At the site, customers can conduct a number of transactions without ever leaving home. Look up a Zip Code, file a Change of Address, Track a package, request to hold vacation mail, buy stamps, print shipping labels, request a pick-up of an outgoing package are just a few of the transactions that can be performed on our website.
Now, our Postmaster General, Patrick R. Donahoe, has announced another expanded access milestone: “that more than one million iPhone, iPod touch and iPad customers have downloaded the U.S. Postal Service app”. Since the application was launched in December 2009, it has consistently been one of the top 10 free business apps in the App Store.
The app gives customers instant, on-the-go access to the most popular tools on usps.com and it offers browser-friendly access, too. The USPS App is available for free from the App Store on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad or at www.itunes.com/appstore. For more information, go to usps.com/mobile/info.htm.
Greater Boston District Manager Lynch also reminds customers of other expanded access options, such as, our more than 30 Automated Postal Centers (APC) in the Greater Boston area. You can transact your Postal business at an APC using a debit or credit card. And for added convenience, most APCs are available 24/7. Check usps.com for an APC in your area.
Lynch also invites customers to browse usps.everywhere.com to locate 32,000 post offices and over 70,000 shops, stores and kiosks where you can search the 100,000 locations that now provide Postal Services and Products at not only our traditional post offices, but at other retail outlets, grocery stores, supply chains, and pharmacies as well.
