Barack Obama, the President of the United States, signed Public Law 112–60 on November 23, 2011 to dedicate the Woburn, MA Post Office in honor of fallen Woburn Police Officer John Maguire. Public Law 112–60 designates the facility of the United States Postal Service at 462 Washington Street in Woburn, Massachusetts, as the "Officer John Maguire Post Office”. The Senate version of the bill, S. 1412, was sponsored by Senator John Kerry with Senator Scott Brown as co-sponsor. The House of Representatives version of the bill, H.R. 2640, was sponsored by MA Congressman Edward Markey with the nine other MA Representatives as Co-Sponsors. The public is welcome to attend the dedication ceremony to honor the life and sacrifice of Woburn Police Officer John Maguire. |
