Boston, MA — The Postal Service observes Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 as a holiday. All post offices will be closed. There will be no regular mail delivery, except for Priority Express Mail. We will re-open with regular mail delivery, collections, and retails services on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

You can still have access to postal services at Self Service Kiosks (SSKs) and can buy stamps at select local retailers in the Greater Boston area. Available hours and street addresses of SSK locations and local retailers can be found on www.usps.com by using the Locate A Post Office search function.

SSKs are located in the following Post Office lobbies:

  • Leominster
  • Lexington

Why not give it a try this Veterans Day?
Customer surveys reveal that many residential customers have never used an SSK. But once they try it out, they’re sold. First-time users are often surprised at just how easy it is to use and many actually moved from being non-users to frequent SSK users.

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation: 152 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations. With more than 31,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, usps.com, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $65 billion and delivers nearly 40 percent of the world's mail. If it were a private-sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 42nd in the 2012 Fortune 500. The Postal Service has been named the Most Trusted Government Agency for seven years and the fourth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute.
