North Reading Post Office carriers recognized

North Reading, MA — North Reading Postmaster Bill Dunn recently recognized the letter carriers of the North Reading Post Office for a combined 209 years of safe driving. The North Reading office has had no recordable personal injuries for over 615 days.

Every carrier received an award pin, issued by the National Safety Council, and a certificate for driving safely anywhere from 1 year to, in some cases, 30+ years.  Supervisor Cindy Durkee-Tavis was given a plaque for a million miles of safe driving!  Postmaster Dunn stated “I’m very proud of my team’s safety record. Our commitment to service is well documented. Providing that service while maintaining an environment of safety for our employees and customers shows what true professionals these folks are.”

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
